Lil Wayne back with a large collection of Southern Hip-Hop bangers, with top lyrical ability, and great production. There's not a single track on this album that bores me even a little, which is even more impressive when you look at this album's 77 minute runtime. Wayne finally got a good team of producers, because these beats are clean, and catchy as well. And them there's Shooter, which is just a masterpiece. No clue how anyone could dislike Wayne after hearing this 🔫

Wayne's true magnum opus.

Guy's, I'm a happy human being again. So when I'm happy I start listening to Wayne. Wayne is my go to for fun, lyrically clever and engaging hip-hop. So I went back and listened to my favorite all time album by him, Carter 2. And by God this man is one of the best to ever do it.

Technically, there isn't a single bad song on here. This is just a collection of 7s and 8s that is consistent enough front to back, but it doesn't really excite me enough to invite multiple listens. Weezy stepped his lyric game up on this one, but the transition in sound from Cash Money beatsmith Mannie Fresh to Batman, T-Mix and some of the Heatmakerz least personable beats makes this a harder listen for me than it is for others, I guess. I understand why; this album was to help showcase ... read more

Why'd he move away from this style/sound again? His swagger and consistency were at all-time highs here, without sacrificing flow or lyrical ability. That bit about consistency is why this album towers over the rest in Wayne's discog - ALL Wayne albums have filler. This one limits it to two or three tracks, and provides top-tier quality for the remainder. This is the mountaintop!

Bittersweet afterthought: Wayne's got a lot of fans praising him as GOAT, but his best is a 90? Not even a 95 or a ... read more
