The Gate is a spectatular opening to Bjork's new album entitled "Utopia". While seemingly underwhelming on the first listen, the song itself is made up of lyrics that affirm Bjork's love for her partner, transcending the typical love song with woodwinds and Arca's instrumentals, introducing us to her anticipated album due in November

The gate seems like a fusion between what she elaborated with Biophilia and her asthetic in Homogenic/Vespertine. The sounds are beautiful but there're many unecessary silent parts. Vocals are a bit repetitive near the end of the song, which is pretty surprising for Björk. I hope this album will be not entirely like The Gate (interesting at the first listening but loses power each listenings).
