Solid bits and bobs.

A small EP by aoty user sippix (go support them), Bits&pieces is the second release from sippix that I've heard, the first being 'A Dreams Atmosphere', a project that lived up to it's name, dreamy and atmospheric. I'd say that this EP lives up to it's name as well. It's a small collection of demos that don't really go anywhere and lack the element I really enjoyed about sippix's music, the atmosphere. It's literally "Bits & Pieces" of songs.

Clearly off the bat, this will be something more different than from their last EP and this time around its a bit of a uncompleted and bare mess. Most of these instrumentals are empty sounding and while it tries to bring something, it's just not there. With lonely beats accompanied by soft synths or a very low sounding bass...yeah I can see why this is probably not an "essential" among his discography. Overall not much to say ... read more

AOTY User @Sippix releases a new EP and I was super excited to see how it sounds!

And overall, it wasn't a bad listen. But I was a little let down considering alarm, the lead single, was probably the only song of value on this project for me personally.
Alarm is fun, catchy, and attention-grabbing, regardless of it's messy mixing. I feel it could've been a lot more enjoyable if it wasn't for the low end sounding a little heavy and intruding in a way - but still good!
