The Guardian

For their first album in 16 years, producer Youth has brought bells, whistles, trumpets, female backing vocals, strings and presumably the studio kitchen sink to embellish their trademark jangling swagger.

God Is in the TV
The band have taken their time in maybe assessing the demand for a new record, and have clearly exercised tight quality control in assembling an album that will be exactly what long-time fans have been waiting for.

There is plenty of variety in the tracks on Instant Pleasures; well crafted and tuneful songs with the benefit of 16 years of collected experiences to recount that will please those who retain a hankering for the 1990s.

Louder Than War
Although there is a perceptible unbalance between staying loyal to their Britpop roots and blossoming into areas of unfamiliar territory, this is a record which will be embraced by the band’s original parish.
So impressed by this album! Really catchy tunes and lyrics, Instant Pleasures is the perfect title for it. Most songs on the album could be singles, amazing to think this is their first album in 16 years.

The songs are both a nostalgia trip but also sound fresh...if that makes sense. So many bands do a comeback album and it severely lacks compared to their first albums but I think this stands up with the rest cannot wait to hear the tunes live.
