The Needle Drop

Young Thug and DJ Carnage bring out the best in each other on their debut Young Martha EP.

The first collaborative EP from Young Thug and the producer Carnage is an intriguing proposition, and it’s dazzling at times. But it seems to scratch the surface of their potential chemistry.

Short and sweet, the collaboration between Thug and Carnage is one that works exactly how a hip hop collab should be. Young Thug doesn't bring his best bars, but his personality is as present as ever, and Carnage's beats are subtle while energetic. Liger is a standout and destroys the majority of the songs from EBBTG.

I feel like Thug hasn't been the same since this. This EP is genuine fun and the only song that comes to close to being as vibey as Liger is Hop Off A Jet (Feat. Travis Scott) which was a year ago at this point. I think Thug needs to reinvent himself or just go back to his old style because this was refreshing compared to Slime & B.

On my first listen i didn't feel the vibe of the ep, but then it had grown on me in many ways. Could be the best Thugger release
