Love has been mused about since the beginning of time, and these guys might just do it the best. A great concept album from the group out of New York. This basically a flawless album, Hamilton’s vocals are almost godlike. Instrumentals that range from anger to sadness to forgiveness. This album always has held a special place in my heart, makes me think of fall with all the leaves falling. If I was making a best of 2000s list this will be right up there, top 10 maybe top 5.

Of all the bands to emerge in the New York post-punk scene, Hamilton Leithauser might just have the most emotive and powerful vocals. His massive range and idiosyncratic rasp propels this album towards greatness. Not that it's a one-man show. The music isn't anything groundbreaking -- it's just really good garage rock, successfully suiting a number of speeds and moods. Plus "The Rat" is a preposterously good song that emphatically deserves its place on best-of-the decade lists.

AAAAAAAAAA this album is so good uwu

The beautiful romantic lyrics, the powerhouse vocals, the crunchy guitar riffs and the ROARRRRRING drums all come together in a fantastic way to give a truly incredibly rock album with so much personality and flair that really should have the broadest appeal to anyone quite frankly. Love love love love LOVE <3
