A charming start that shows the band's chops, especially on vocals and lead guitar. They haven't quite found their sound or honed their songwriting yet at this point, but there's still plenty worth coming back to. "The City Has No Empathy" in particular is an irresistible anthem and a high point in the discography, though I prefer the version they re-recorded as a bonus track on Bloom.
