Clash

At once a relatively pragmatic re-release of already heard material and the satisfying conclusion to its previous flirtations, ‘Joli Mai’ is a hybrid: part-album, part DJ-toolbox — and totally playable, in any context.

AllMusic

At times, Joli Mai feels more like a supplemental release than Fabriclive 93 did, and it may be best at providing context: It's another testament to Snaith's production skills, but it also offers more proof of what a compelling DJ he is. Even if Joli Mai's presentation isn't quite as dazzling, the undeniable quality of these tracks makes it a welcome companion piece for more than just completists.

Resident Advisor

The Fabriclive mix was much more than the sum of its parts, but to have some of its best tracks available in this way makes for both a solid album and a chance to wonder what you could build with them yourself.

Pitchfork

Dan Snaith’s new LP as Daphni contains unmixed, extended versions of many of the tracks from his recent Fabriclive 93 mix. Some tracks falter in the context of an album, but others flower in new ways.

An interesting new chapter for Daphni, starting strong, ending strong but falling apart in the middle.

Will update after numerous listens, as is expected with Daphni, there seems to be a lot hiding here.

Favourites: Poly(Caribou truly meets Daphni here), Life's What You Make It & Carry On.

Crisp sounds seemlessly linked. A deviation from his usual work under the moniker Caribou, I find Dan Snaith's venture as Daphni enthralling.
Purchasing Joli Mai from Amazon helps support Album of the Year.
