I first discovered the beauty of Surman's Jazz when I bought a copy of A Biography of the Rev. Absalom Dawe. Essentially, his performance on that LP was nothing short of brilliant. On his Saltash Bells LP he again applies his multi-instrumental, composing and performance skill with true aplomb.
