The Needle Drop

At its best, A Love Letter to You 2 is emotionally stirring, cutting edge, and tuneful, but there are just as many moments I can't stand.

Apart from "Trip at Knight", I never really checked out or liked much of Trippies material before. And the majority of this project kinda proves my point as to why. At times, Trippie really shines and shows some honest potential, but more times than not, he represents what I kinda hate about most emo pop rap out there. Trippie's follow-up to his breakout mixtape is a pretty big improvement, in my opinion. While it's still quite inconsistent, there are way more memorable and catchy tracks here. His voice seemed to be more controlled, as I felt a bit negative about his raw and uncontrolled delivery in the first installment A Love Letter To You.

Favorite tracks: Bust Down, In Too Deep, Woah Woah Woah Woah, Today, Overdose on L1fe
Least favorite: Back Back Back

Edit: some of my favorite Trippie Redd songs are on here, Today is amazing. Still kind of inconsistent.

An improvement on some level, especially with his singing but a lot of this just doesn't land as anything particularly interesting.

Really similar to the first one. Cheap production, Trippie's vocals are bad on some songs. Features were not that memorable, but definitely not a bad project.

Fav Tracks: Bust Down, In Too Deep, Today, Overweight, Overdose On L1fe

While here aren't completely garbage tracks, there's not a single track that stands out.
It doesn't happen to me often that i wouldn't give a single song from a project at least a 9/10, but here it is, it's kinda dissapointing honestly.
Props to Trip for giving some underground artists a chance to shine, nonetheless the features aren't memorable at all
And also Trippie's singing (if you can call it that) is so shit, maybe sometimes mid ... read more
