Continuing my journey through the wonderful world of The The, we arrive at their third album and the first to really be made by a full band, rather than just Matt Johnson's solo project.
While Johnson hasn't fully let others in, only Gravitate to Me features writing credits from someone else, the influence from them in the new sound can definitely be heard. My final review and thoughts on Mind Bomb - made to blow your mind, and it came with the suggestion to play the album:
"Very loud, Very Late, Very Alone, with the Lights turned Very Low."
I did 3 of those to an extent, just not very late.
I'll just talk the band here, it's the first occurrence of Matt with a proper band for an album, and this band would also be present for The The's follow-up Dusk.
