Holy shit their sound now! There is an improvement in what I already thought was incredible. A hard hitting EP and a great new edge. I only hope for more progression from this band. Loved all the songs on here, would of just liked one or two more.

Is that a young Ryan Gosling standing there?

Yeah MEAT's more like it, but IDLES still have a long way to go, even here. The performances are harder and grittier than on Welcome, and the vocals are harsher. Overall the sound is just better, rawer and less "radio rock-y". But every song here feels like they're only at 70%- meaning that they could be a lot more brutal and energetic. A lot of potential not yet harnessed completely.

Here we see Idles become the snarling, biting and feral animals that they present themselves as in their newer records, and by god is it enjoyable to witness. While the instrumentation doesn't go full Brutilism yet, they still have the energy and biting satire in their lyrics that make them one of the most interesting post-punk bands of the 21st century.
