Part 1 is a decent start, kinda sounds like filler from "Write About Love" at times. Part 2 is a huge adjustment and my personal of the three, not really a dud on this one. Part 3 is my least favorite. I couldn't finish it to be honest. Overall I think it can be too gushy and whimsical with it's sound (at times mind you) and sometimes it can drag but when it's good....oh man it's really good!

I like the band, heaps. This is a compilation of, blah, blah, blah. Murdoch feels a full length LP gets lost, so, he and the band has resorted to EP releases. Those are compiled here. Seems like a full length to me. They're coming to the Oregon Zoo this summer. That will be fun. It's a great open air venue, so, bring your kids... The lions get hungry. That is, if you're feeling sinister! Tah!!

The individual song quality is certainly inconsistent, particularly given the high standards the band has set for themselves; there are probably five albums Belle & Sebastian albums where each song is stronger than any individual song here. That said, most albums won’t hold up well compared to classic ... read more
