While Cook's credentials are undeniably impeccable, they don't outshine her talent, and she just keeps getting better.

On her pristine third album, Vessel of Love, Cook sings her desire and pain into an exalted, beaming sway.

All in all, the songwriting and production of Vessel of Love far surpasses any expectations that might spring to mind from the Buffett-esque label "tropical pop". That should be no surprise to anyone who has been following Hollie Cook's career, of course, but it's always exciting to hear continued growth, and that's exactly what Cook gives with each new release.

God Is in the TV

Vessel of Love is an album for lovers, for those who come back from hell, for the survivors, for new beginnings. This record is both about the sensation of falling in love and about the relief of moving out of the toxic past, and if we are to believe that old saying that all reggae is a celebration, then it is safe to say that Hollie Cook’s new material celebrates the amazing complexities of the heart, and our great capacity for transformation.

The Skinny

Vessel of Love is more ethereal, more dreamy, and more hazy than anything she's written before, moving away from Prince Fatty’s dubbier influence on her previous LP Twice towards a more synth-laden sound.

Very legit roots album from a beautiful, powerful voice.
Nice slow smooth reggae songs. All of them are simple and a little bit repetitive, but they manage to transmit a mood calmness and relaxation.

Favs: Angel Fire, Stay Alive, Survive, Freefalling and Far from Me.
Really great album of Hollie Cook
