Throughout, Drummond and Cauty display an instinctive talent for wallpaper music that's truly diverting, making Chill Out one of the essential ambient albums.

Supposedly the album is meant to portray a journey from Texas to Louisiana, and so it is: the album transmits the delirious feeling of a thirty-hour car ride, as felt in that special sensory area between sleep and brainless acceptance of random stimuli.

We all know about those albums that tells stories with no words. I thought I had good choices until I heard this.
"Chill Out" might, quite possibly, deliver brilliantly on its title in the most humble, nonconforming, and idealistic manner.
If you're ever having a rough day, or you need a well-deserved break from the chaos, turn this on, and just chill out.

This is one of those albums that you can't really explain or compare to anything else. I can't say I've ever experienced anything like this and I don't think I ever will. Just give it a shot if you haven't, it's something you just have to experience yourself.

Man, where to start? I haven't heard very many albums that have given me the urge to sprint to my keyboard to shower them in praise the second they've ended, but I found one with Chill Out. This thing really is an album experience. A beautiful, pastoral, and enriching one. I love it.
