On Amerikkkant, it's possible that Jourgensen let his anger get in the way of his musicianship. The samples have become almost overpowering, turning tracks like "Twilight Zone" and the eponymous title track into right-wing media mashups. The rhetoric is past expiry too, cycling through familiar slams on "fake news" and "MAGA" which, while still relevant, felt old this time last year.

PopMatters

AmeriKKKant is not a great album, and objectively, it's hard even to call it a good one. That said, it feels like Ministry, and it honest-to-god soars at times.

A.V. Club

AmeriKKKant is cathartically enjoyable, but it ultimately feels as inspiring—and effective—as tweeting Trump-Putin memes at Fox News.

The casual listeners or the ones who simply have less patience will definitely take this as a waste of time and I can’t blame them.

AllMusic

While some of the Bush-era albums found the group reinvigorated after the lackluster Filth Pig and Dark Side of the Spoon, AmeriKKKant is just a depressing slog through and through, perfectly summed up by its Statue of Liberty faceplant cover art.

It’s a release so socially incensed that the overall product is rendered totally ineffective.

Fav Tracks: Ninguno.

As anyone who's read his autobiography can attest, Ministry's Al Jourgensen is undeniably an asshole. However, he is also responsible for some of the most innovative heavy music of the late 80's and early 90's. With an incredible three album run of The Land of Rape and Honey (1988), The Mind is a Terrible Thing to Taste (1989), and Psalm 69: The Way to Succeed and the Way to Suck Eggs (1992), Ministry's combination of industrial and metal influences was virtually unprecendented: sampling movie ... read more
