Chromeo specializes in upbeat, retro-embracing synth-funk—but, unlike others in a similar vein, the Canadian duo exists in an area somewhere between a come-hither wink and a seduction parody. On Head Over Heels, the group strikes a perfect balance between these extremes.
It's odd ... that Chromeo's sound doesn't change one bit on Head Over Heels – why bring out the big guns for more of the same?
It's not Chromeo's most ambitious album, but I like it a lot for the best production and a few bangers, which are absolutely some of the band's best songs like "Room Service" and "Bedroom Calling"
