Yaeji pushes her music further to its poles on EP2.

NME

For Yaeji, it’s early days, still – but with each release we get a clearer insight into one of dance music’s most exciting prospects.

The 405

Ambient yet melodic, quaint yet powerful, EP2 showcases Yaeji’s strengths as both a vocalist and producer, boasting new ideas whilst maintaining all of the elements that made people fall in love with her in the first place.

Resident Advisor

If she sounded shy on her first record, she comes out of her shell on EP2.

Tiny Mix Tapes
yaeji already gave us “therapy,” and now she gives us the vulnerability and intimacy of a fractured world, where we only in its cracks commune, not seeing, we are seen, as ourselves, and being finally ourselves, we see.

It's minimal and stripped-back, but undeniably house music, handled rather uniquely at the hands of Yaeji who manages to employs her reclining voice in both Korean and English stances — as if to blur the lines between traditional and nontraditional dance.

This EP remains one of my favorite things to play on a late night train ride. 'raingurl' is just so good I usually listen to that on repeat. I want Yaeji to be my friend.

Raingurl is great. But, really this EP seems too pop, too vapid. On raingurl I loved the somewwhat experimentalness in her melody and rhythym, these other songs just seem plastered together easily, nothing sticks to me, they seem bland and forgettable as well as lyrically empty. She has potential, yet this was disapointing.

Very strange and entrancing atmosphere on this project. Excited to see what Yaeji will do next, I think she has potential for a 90!
