art-folk-jazz-pop-soul-country hot mess. Gentry's authentic narrative voice displays total control of mood and emotion, alternating between sultry, sassy, defiant, vulnerable, petulant, and distraught. it's weird and great.
Listened to this in prep for Mercury Rev’s remix of the album coming in 2019 and it’s amazing. I’ve found it hard to connect with country music, but not with this album. Bobbie has an incredible way of storytelling that keeps you captivated and the instruments feel raw and unfiltered. Americana at its best
