This is IMO their weakest album. The drums sound soulless, the guitar tone is almost industrial and the album sounds as grey as the artwork. Some good songs on here ofc, such as Wake, No Way To Heal, strife and As I Am Exploding, but this is a confusing chapter for trivium. Matts vocal style has been altered as well, which Im not entirely on board with either. Overall, its still trivium, but it feels way less potent.
I'm bored
An improvement over In Waves, more solid and consistent, not stupidly long...... Very enjoyable.
Vengeance represents trivium going a bit too far into the radio rock sort of territory and forgetting who they are. Though likely not eitely their fault, it's still mildly unfortunate. Everything is mixed perfectly fine so if you want some inoffensive not really heavy metal this works fine. it's just something that sticks out a bit in triviums discography
