In the entirety of "of Montreal's" discography, their earlier albums stand apart from the bulk of their later catalog of releases which in my opinion contains convoluted material. However my favorite of the early albums is by far "Cherry Peel". An album that features an obvious Beatles influence with very creative and entertaining lyrics. The entire project features this incredibly warm aura surrounding it that it's nearly impossible to not enjoy. Give it a try!

Me in 2015:

*listens to this album constantly*
*tries to write but fails*
*spends days off from school on hikes alone*
*buys 2-for-$10 bottles of wine and drinks them alone in room*

"I wonder if I have depression."

Gonna be honest, not a fan of the bands later work. However, this thing is fucking incredible. The 60s style melodies that are sung by the man with the most boyish voice ever move me some fuckin way. This album is from start to finish a triumph of melody.
