A very green band with great promise. Thats what ive always heard on this record. If you play guitar, the riffs on here will destroy both your left and your right hand. The downpicking is insane! Trivium would go on to get way better but this album is in no way bad. Its actually quite good! Just not as good as what comes after
Intense diarrhea.
This album is a definite 10 for me. Keep in mind that this was the band's debut album, and despite the band being off time somewhat (because they were not playing to a metronome), this is probably some of the bands most technical work. At this point in the band's career, and to an extent, they wore their influences very much on their sleeves, but each song is very distinctly Trivium. Although this holds little production value, it still is a decent debut for the Floridians. In spite of some eye-rolling moments here and there, this shows a young and hungry Trivium that would truly flourish in coming releases.
The seeds of what would become triviums foundation are clear here, it's a solid enough 2000's metalcore album that may not be the best thing ever but is far from the worst. It shows the potential of the band that would come to fruition not even a few years later.
