It’s riveting evidence that Timberlake can still be the R&B futurist he was at the outset of his solo career.
Timberlake’s attempt to Frankenstein his brand of pop with contemporary electronic sounds might cause whiplash as “Filthy” vacillates between laptop-generated squelches and a more organic groove.
I gave the last single of his (Can't Stop the Feeling) a 0 for being generic slop that keeps entering my life when it shouldn't, and now I am giving this song a 30 because while it is more badly mixed, I'll take the pseudo-novelty I guess.
I feel like Pitchfork reviewing Liz Phair right now.
Not horrible but really not his best. I can appreciate the experimentation here but some of it just doesn't sound very polished.
This song is actually kind of good, and I really like Timbaland’s production on this track. But there are a couple critiques I have on this song. 1. There a couple cringe lines here and there that kind of take me out of the song. 2. This song DOES NOT fit on Man of the Woods at all.
It's a good song,I enjoy the kind of different flavor musically that this song has compare to freaking Flannel.
