Everyone Afraid to Be Forgotten is certainly a project worth lifting the veil and proudly revealing Jonna Lee’s true self.

Its biggest tracks are overblown, and it does threaten to overstay its welcome at an hour and five minutes.

The Skinny

Everyone Afraid to be Forgotten is a tough and complicated listen, and not in a good way. Self-produced by the Swedish singer, who is also one half of audiovisual project iamamiwhoami, the album’s production is all over the place and wildly inconsistent.

Iamamiwhoami was one of my favorites electropop/synthpop projects, I always love how the music connects so well with the audiovisual film that was made for every iamamiwhoami's album. From the finest arches to the noisiest and most imposing sounds, an exquisite range not limited to a single musical vision but to that of many united in an exceptional way, full of meaning and historical context, ionnalee becomes what we needed, a world by song! If I had to recommend an album and an artist without doubts I would be my choice without hesitation.
