The Line of Best Fit

The tracks on the Tomorrow's Shore were recorded during the sessions for that album [Weather Diaries], but are in no way the left over scraps - each of them could have found their way onto the record rather than presented on this four track EP.

These leftovers from the UK band’s 2017 reunion album successfully position them in a contemporary context alongside peers like Tame Impala and Caribou.

Under The Radar

Tomorrow's Shore is being released 30 years after the band's genesis, and it plays like one of the most ethereal Ride productions yet. This is partially because the EP shows the band exploring a new facet of their sound.

I’m not going to sit here and say that Ride are back with the sound that we wanted to hear all along. But I’ll be honest, there are some tracks on this short, 4-track EP that would have done wonders to “Weather Diaries”. The production is glistening, the instrumentals are solid, and more than anything Ride are indeed being themselves. They just really need to watch themselves and not go Classic Rock on us again.
