Their debut LP is a wonderfully indulgent hard rock gem that scratches the same itch as Eagles of Death Metal and earlier Pack AD records. While it simply can’t match the band’s live kinetic mayhem, those looking for something new in this genre will find this record a treat.
There's nothing truly radical about the collection, but it is gratifying riff-based rock, and in an industry littered with sycophants, Starcrawler's brand of exuberant noise is refreshing.
Sympathetically produced in full analogue glory by Ryan Adams, this debut album is awash in buzzsaw guitar riffs and splashy cymbals, while the wild-child vocals of Arrow De Wilde channel the jaded disdain of Courtney Love.
push aside the whole freaky, edgy personality of the band members, this album isn't bad. it really isn't. guitar riffs are catchy and it gives off a really epic sort of atmosphere. i like where theyre going with this and i hope they have a similar style for their future albums.
