The Guardian

May Your Kindness Remain confirms Andrews’ rise. It’s a brilliant record, proof that old forms can still be timeless.

The Seattle singer spends much of May Your Kindness Remain exploring ideas of home and what it means to have roots, on 10 new tunes that are lusher and more expansive while leaving plenty of room to showcase her astonishing voice.

May Your Kindness Remain impacts with these evocative snapshots of the 99-percent, but it also does so with Andrews' rich voice and melodicism as well as a lingering sadness.

The Independent

Overall, it’s an entertaining, multifaceted set, albeit weakened by a tendency to pursue slim ideas and dead-end notions – a clutter of synths, a gypsy fiddle, a Dvorak melody, a comedy announcement – that give Boarding House Reach a rather fragmentary character.

The entire album is so melodic and rhythmic that it is very easy to close your eyes and get lost in the music (plus, I was on, like, no sleep when I first listened to it). The basic theme of the whole album is the importance of ... read more
