(Reinventing my review style a bit so it looks a little weird, bare with me please lmao)
One of my biggest guilty pleasure albums >:D
Talk about an underrated classic when you hear one, this is so supremely amazing! I remember a long time ago, I used to despise Justin Timberlake’s music, I thought he was just a monotonous and irksome pop hits artist, never willing to experiment and would make the same old annoying radio smashers constantly. I thought this because I only heard a ... read more
I used to blindly hate JT’s music just because he made that one song in the Trolls movie that is pretty bad. I then saw the user scores for this album and his 2013 albums, and I was like, “Dang, are these albums really that good?”
Turns out that this album is a pretty big banger. This is where he improved his songwriting and his singing. It’s also different from all the rest of the albums that came out in that era of pop music, which can be a great thing depending on ... read more
Ahhh, 2006, 'twas a different time for pop music. I decided to go back in time for today, and what better place to go back to than Justin Timberlake's golden era, y'know, back when he actually made good music that wasn't pandering radio pop bullshit. "FutureSex/LoveSounds" is honestly awesome, and holds up pretty damn well 15 years later. Songs like "SexyBack" and "Chop Me Up" are BANGERS, and I really did feel like I was back in the 2000's (I mean that in the best ... read more
pop that was innovative and different for its time but doesnt hold up against the more modern pop acts of the 2010's. some of these tracks have absolutely amazing production, much of it from timbaland and rick rubin, but the majority of them are longer than they need to be, and just drone along. justin timberlake gives some solid but not incredible vocals and lyrics. this album as a whole is a more tolerable version of the common radio hits of the mid 2000's, nothing bad, and nothing that ... read more
Timbaland's tune was very common at the time,
but Justin Timberlake and Timbaland's collaboration was truly unique.
I still enjoy listening to the great parts, but the total length is too long and bit boring.
Anyway, it's a good pop album with enough fun.
Highlights : SexyBack, LoveStoned / I Think She Knows (Interlude), What Goes Around.../...Comes Around (Interlude)
AN HOUR AND SIX MINUTES??? (I take this part back it doesn't even matter because this is SO GOOD)
I was immediately kind of skeptical about listening to this in full because of how long it is. I'm not really a fan of long albums, and I don't think a pop album like this needs to be that long really. But wow, that production on the title track/opening track is just incredible, and then having it immediately followed by "SexyBack" was just another incredible move.
That production by ... read more

Justin’s magnum opus. ‘FutureSex/LoveSounds’ is a blockbuster. I grew up listening every single track of this album on the radio. It’s timeless and iconic to its time at once.
Justin Timberlake is someone who I no longer think of as a musician initially. Because of all the movies, TV shows, and other general entertainment he has been featured in, I think of him as more of an everyday celebrity rather than this big pop star. However, not many basic celebrities have an album like this under their belt. I'm not exaggerating when I say that FutureSex/LoveSounds is one of the most groundbreaking and influential pop albums of the 21st century (so far). With his debut album ... read more
From what I've heard of him so far, Justin Timberlake has a real knack for subverting the work of just about all of his contemporaries. When he drops an album, he drops one with ambition and vision that stands out in the mainstream pop landscape, and just about all of this made its way onto "FutureSex/LoveSounds", a record that wonderfully curates its sound for an experience that is catchy, sensual and addictive at its heights. Vocally, Justin is on top of his game. His persona seems ... read more
Lest we forget one of the smoothest pop albums of the 2000's. There really isn't a clunker on this thing and it's all around very very enjoyable. Crazy to believe that this came out 13 years ago and sounds as good as it does.
As much as a total guilty pleasure, FutureSex/LoveSounds features Justin TImberlake as a renowned solo artist at that time, wading in the mood for immense groove and lengthy but well thought-out tracks. Successful, given that the production efforts was led primarily by TImbaland's signature bounce, making the album experience as futuristic and ambitious as hell for a pop record. It is worth mentioning too the improvement of Timberlake's songwriting here, though not as furnished as incredible ... read more
I don’t listen to a lot of throwback music, but this is one that I revisit quite a bit because it not only takes me back to the good times when I was much younger and listening to SexyBack and My Love in the car, but it’s still genuinely good to this day. I don’t just listen for the nostalgia, I listen because it’s awesome.
In terms of vibe, I’d compare FutureSex/LoveSounds to exactly what the title suggests: having sex. The first nine tracks are so groovy and ... read more
Amazing
For a second I thought it was 2019, but apparently I'm back in 2006.
I like it here.
Best: Track 2 - Track 12
Weakest: Future Sex/Love Sound
The first 3 tracks are all very good dance tracks, with great production as normal at the time from Timbaland and Danja. Tracks 4-6 are some of the best music of all time. Blackout's one of my favorite albums of all time but even then I don't know if any 3 track run on that album is as good as those 3 on this album. The songs are also great dance tracks but they also do a great job of immersing the listener with a bed of synths, strings and whatever else Timbaland and Danja want to throw in ... read more
Sweet, solid, scandalous, and most importantly, sexy. It's a huge step in the right direction for Justin Timberlake, and it wasn't like all the other pop releases that were massive hits at the time.
His ability in songwriting and singing only just got better here, he showed early signs of his talent in his debut album, but that was only the scratching surface of what he had to offer. Here, he just lets it all out, and gives off the best in him. Timbaland makes it all even better, undoubtedly ... read more
Honestly one of the greatest mainstream pop albums ever put to tape, and the magnum opus of not just JT, but Timbaland as well. Whilst most 2000s pop albums would only give you a few decent singles and a whole bunch of filler, Futuresex/Lovesounds blows that expectation out of the water. The album is like an ornate musical buffet, where your tastebuds are tingled with Justin's charismatic vocals that are just oozing with personality and confidence, Timbaland's smooth as hell production that ... read more

I was 12-13 when I came across this record, it was thrust onto me thanks to the TV, MTV to be more accurate or some off brand version of it, with it came "My Love" and of course I chased after the rest, so its a record with a great nostalgic feel,
Funnily though, what made me return to this record years later was my friends great opinion of this record, which seems to be shared here on the AOTY community. And I definitely see it now; since its the only record I ever return to from ... read more
1000th review is MINEEEEE!!!! RAHHHHHHHHHHHH
Justin Timberlake embodies the 2000s era r&b that I love. Nice production, smooth lyrics, as a black man, I enjoy 2000s r&b way too much and this album feels like the best batch to come out of that era, with banger after banger. The interludes are also really good like holy shit. Except for will.I.am he can suck a dick.
Great.
