My dream in life was to open my own grocery store. Unfortunately I was born too late, as the corporate overlords have already grabbed the food market by the neck and I would quickly be run out of business by the likes of Kroger, Whole Foods, Publix, and Wegman's. This album is fucking garbage.

NO!

I can't believe there's literally a song about how Mario and Link are friendzoned <brr>

Here's the thing, I have no problem with albums that show or describe clumsy emotions (I think of an album like "Pinkerton"). Sometimes artists are too young, they are in a delicate phase of emotion management. The beginning of Tyler, The Creator is an excellent example of this. But Johnson's stories about his love relationships are HORRIBLE and his love for his mother is quite ... read more

Brief Review: Revisiting this album all these years later really reveals its flaws to me. ESPECIALLY compared to his follow up to this in 2019. It’s really rough around the edges, doesnt really know what its doing and just seems wayyy too scatterbrained to be enjoyable. Still, some ok moments here and there on this thing, but yeah, this has def aged for better or for worse, and sadly mostly for worse.

hot take culture is a plague btw

this album is scatterbrained, it is unfinished, it is incredibly amateur, and that's why it feels legitimate to me. i have nostalgia with this album but i was a kid with so little struggle in my life i didn't "get it," just thought it sounded good.
i've dealt with major depression for almost 4 years now and coming back to it makes me like it even more. i get people's complaints about it but his voice is genuine to me. not every depressed artist is ... read more

no this is pretty great. Hobo Johnson seems like such a likable guy man, I really wish he didn't like... throw his career in the trash. The Fall of Hobo Johnson has genuinely grown on me so much that it's like a top 10 album for me now. I went back to what he made before and I still really like it, but not as much as the other album. I love his production and vocal style so much, even if most people hate it. I just really want and hope he succeeds man, he seems like such a great guy
