Listening to this while driving through Rhode Island was pretty perfect honestly.

Another classic in Sufjan's discography. While I did not identify with this album as much as his other projects, I do still like it from start to finish. He just writes excellent songs with really odd titles. 'Flint' still hits home.

I have never been to Michigan, but after listening to this album, I feel like I've been visiting my whole life. Nothing particular about the instrumentation is anything groundbreaking. What this album excels at is the incredible sense of setting. This is done with very fundamentally sound arrangements and really smart lyrics. This album goes to show that you can still pull off an amazing concept without going all out on everything.
