The Skinny

Arguably, nothing The Xcerts are doing hasn't been done before ... It's just that The Xcerts do it better than anyone else, with the perfect blend of swagger, guts, and old school songwriting chops.

Upset
After attaining this level of power-pop perfection, this band deserves to be one of the biggest in the world right now. Try with all your might; there’s no use holding on to your heart – The Xcerts will only steal it.

God Is in the TV

The Xcerts are branching out. Hold Onto Your Heart is step up musically and lyrically. It is poetic with perfect rhythm.

80
DIY

With ‘Hold On To Your Heart’ the trio have crafted another bold and brilliant album which soars higher than ever before.

80
Dork
No matter how dark things get, this album tells you to never shut out the light in your life. These messages of hope wrapped up in a bunch of sugar-rush rock songs hit the mark as The Xcerts stake their claim.

The Line of Best Fit

Every song leaps to action, be it immediately or with a tentative build, capturing the essence of what’s fun about life.

Classic Rock
Pop, by the way, is unashamedly at the heart of it all; there’s no pretense of indie cool here.
40
Mojo
Inspired by romantic hope's inextinguishable spark in the teen angst of John Hughes's '80's movies, this Brighton trio proclaim their pop-rock thrills with juvenile garrulousness and hooks aplenty. Catchy, undemanding, irksome.

THIS IS THE BEST "EMO?/INDIE ROCK" ALBUM OF THIS YEAR SO FAR.

The song Hold on to Your Heart is a pearl of album.

When this album goes full-on nostalgic pop rock, it's hard to think of an artist that's had as much fun in 2018 as The Xcerts. Sadly that's only contained to a few songs and while nothing is detestable by any stretch, it's a safe album that may often underwhelm.
