“these mid-year lists are so accurate” are they though? Neglected 93696, When We Were That Wept For The Sea, Redshift Blues and Knocknarea. Ofc it’s heavily subjective but for such a title as “50 best albums of 2023 so far” they really did ignore some of the best material released.

I would say all these list are subjective. Depends on your taste of course. I find these list a waste of time. I did scroll to see some and rolled my eyes seeing most of these on there lol
