Sonically min-maxxed to the point of somehow generating a sense of overwhelm
Wouldve been close to their best if they fully capitalized off of this soundscape, and unlike their better projects the texture comes across as some external placement rather than an uncontrollable growth from within, despite the clear intention to create a bath of sound. Like any bath, sooner or later I'm just wondering when I should be getting out.
Having gotten into ATCQ and Wu-Tang Clan recently, seeing a couple weeks ago that one of their members was releasing a project soon had me somewhat excited, especially given that the features have some of my favourite rappers from that era.
