Mr. English and the various collaborators are able to keep a discomforting tone throughout the album. This isn't a dark ambient album, but has the same undertones with none of the usual tackiness. The repetitive undulations feel burdensome and usually downright depressing. On the final track rays will shine through the clouds, allowing you to reflect and recuperate. On the surface the album seems a bit dull and sad, but when you're feeling like we're all doomed and want to know that someone ... read more

This is one of the best drummers out there. If you have any appreciation for drumming this is a must listen. While his capability as a drummer is the highlight of the album, the other instruments and composition can also be appreciated. The first two tracks really shine and unfortunately, the rest of the album keeps you in anticipation of a return to that shining, which doesn't return.

The sound of this album is between their first and second LPs. Not quite as fun as the first, not quite as emotional as the second. This was one of my most anticipated releases of the year. The tracks "Decent" and especially "Waiting Room" lived up to that anticipation, but the ... read more

The album feels almost as fragmented as the broken glass on the cover. Each of the many tracks is a glimpse into one of the many dreams during a night spent tossing and turning or flipping through a very personal photo album. It may be irritating to some listeners that each track ends just as soon as you're beginning to appreciate it. Personally I prefer these snippets over the seemingly unending loops of some similar artists.

This album has been the perfect bridge between what I love about classical piano and drone music. Artists that attempt to pull off what Bing & Ruth have accomplished with this record come off as overly cinematic or downright cheesy. This is my go-to record in the morning.
