Mr. English and the various collaborators are able to keep a discomforting tone throughout the album. This isn't a dark ambient album, but has the same undertones with none of the usual tackiness. The repetitive undulations feel burdensome and usually downright depressing. On the final track rays will shine through the clouds, allowing you to reflect and recuperate. On the surface the album seems a bit dull and sad, but when you're feeling like we're all doomed and want to know that someone ... read more
This is one of the best drummers out there. If you have any appreciation for drumming this is a must listen. This album has been the perfect bridge between what I love about classical piano and drone music. Artists that attempt to pull off what Bing & Ruth have accomplished with this record come off as overly cinematic or downright cheesy. This is my go-to record in the morning.
