EARL'S FINALLY HAPPY!! LLL has the style we know from Earl with new producers making a great album. My favorite unc.
Yep, JVB is still JVB. I love their concept of going out and partying while grasping the fact that their growing up and have to stop one day. All the features handle their jobs perfectly.
The story telling is so brutally honest and thick throughout the entire album. My main gripe with this project is that it's about 10 to 15 minutes too long.
Still one of the best rappers in the world today! Bring the mastermind behind The Forever Story I knew he would make another quality album. He dives into different genres from R&B to trap and blues. I see a lot of commentary on this album comparing it to Forever Story but GDLU is still well above what most artists are putting out.
For only his sophomore project JID showcased the prowess and ability of a veteran. Came into this project expecting that I've heard a few tracks, not knowing that I've subconsciously have heard a good chunk of the tracks. I will say that the second half really drug down the album from a high 89 to a 82.
I can see the evolution of Yeat from the basic trap artist to something completely outside of the genres he was originally associated with. A surprisingly lengthy EP from Yeat seems to be among his best work yet. Overall it's a great EP to hold over into his next album.
Freddie was wildin' on this album. I think NO. 2 wasn't as good as the first but you won't hear many complaints about this album from me. All the features hit their purpose alongside Alchemist's laid back production. Not a single weak or wavering verse from Freddie throughout the entire tracklist.
Even after listening to the released singles the album for exceeded my expectations. You can feel the amount of care and soul he puts into every track for them all to work together.
I have high hopes for Alfredo 2 but I'd be insane to expect better than the first rendition. It's a mix of the chill, laid back production from Alchemist with Freddie's energetic, boastful, rapid fire bars.
I know it's more of a compilation mixtape but the second half is a little spotty compared to the first. After listening to both Scrapyard and SIDMTHY I can say I'm fully prepared for Vanisher. The simplistic way I can explain this tape is Quadeca going back to his Alma matter in hip hop while looking to the future in his new art pop, synthetic style.
Listened to this just after a listen of Piñata and Bandana does not disappoint. If Piñata wasn't Freddie's prime it was the two album run of Bandana and Alfredo.
I don't Gibbs anyone from a couple years ago this much of an ambitious project would come from Quadeca. It fells like I'm sitting through a sad movie waiting for the happy ending but it never comes.
Once in a generation drug rap album. Two artists that never miss come together and guess what? THERE ARE NO SKIPS! Gibbs and Madlib is my personal favorite producer rapper combo OAT.
Tbh I prefer most of the features compared to Che. I can listen to rage but I'm just personally not the biggest fan of the genre.
So people just can't enjoy Tyler having some fun? I always felt like something was missing from Chromakopia that makes it Tyler and I found what it was in the future nostalgic production IN DTTG. It's a combination of all Tyler has learnt through his creating journey in one project. I know this won't top Igor, but this wasn't made to be a emotional roller-coaster but rather a people mover to get people on their feet. The only problem that I have is that the pacing is a ... read more
Brittany on the rise again I guess. Some of the bars kinda weird but I'll let it slide. I see the potential and I could see this developing into something bigger.
I want to start by saying this is the greatest album cover art OAT. And I would also like to humbly apologize for not checking out this project until it's 10th anniversary. It's funny how this album is so anti mainstream that it became the new mainstream, with its syntax and understated vocals it really became a benchmark in music.
First time listening, but coming in from the hype of the critics I was kinda disappointed.
Couldn't really focus on the music from all the swag. Why did he leave Lil B without a verse on Dadz love? I'll give him that this could've been interesting, but he failed to let it actually materialize. Another Bieber album, another two months of his music playing nonstop in Macy's
