If I pay too much attention to the vocals, they get overly goofy (and a lil... goofy, like... from mickey mouse)
Goofy but he grew up listening to Broadway, Tom Petty & Protomartyr. Lol.
But instrumentally there is some sweet stuff going on here, it honestly is a marriage between indie rock, spoken word, heartland, and post-punk (without the bouts of aggression).
Not too crazy about the record overall though, it just fails to keep me in the loop for all 10 tracks (the bonus track should have been included or replaced one of the weaker/forgettable tracks... it really is a highlight).
Favorite Tracks: Spices, Family Farm, Me & Magdalena, Hanover Camera, Paradise Days
Least Favorite: Unpleasant Breakfast
