Unpopular opinion coming in, this album is very har to listen to...
White dress made a terrible start. the notes are too high for her to sing them properly (squeaky and whispery, this gives me a headache).
The rest of the album is just boring. A track of 4 or 5 minutes stretched into length with repeating the same melody over and over again, every track should be shortened to maybe 2 minutes and it would still be only mediocre. Does she have a great voice? well, yeah, but this just isn't ... read more
75 --> 100
Okay first of all, I would be very surprised of myself if I rated this a 100 after the first listen, which I didn't but this album slowly grew to one of my favourite albums of 2020. I mean, I came back to this album many many times and I enjoyed them very much and this is what makes it a fav. album for me.
Yes, I agree on you guys that it is not perfect, the last few tracks lose a lot of quality but with my rating scale, it is still enough to have enough for what you call the ... read more
I was very excited for this album. Royal blood is a band I detected accidentally on a festival back in 2014 when I walked into a concert.
This album delivers pretty much what I expected. Cool groovy songs that got my head shakin pretty much for the whole running time. But after the first listen I wasn't able to really point out the real bangers. The songs are all decent and the album has a good decency but it lacks of the real great tracks. they already prooved in earlier releases beeing able ... read more

So, I have now listened to the album again in peace and come now also to a somewhat more detailed review. I think the album can be well divided into 2 halves (2 genres), whereby the filler "Broomsticks" describes something like the turn.
"Death By Rock And Roll" starts relatively rocky with the title track and also stays rather on the rough side. After the turn it becomes more country, which may please some. But since I expect The Pretty Reckless to be a rock ... read more
The Chronicles of Me and Medicine at Midnight
Album is announced:
Me hyping and escalating, finally being able to listen to good and new rock again.
Before the album:
Not listened to a single song so as not to favor any individual songs, but then coincidentally heard a song on the radio on release day (Love Dies Young). Listened half-heartedly and found it quite okay.
Album finally there:
Anticipation great, rating list ready, first song on, first impressions heard, emotional state of ... read more
I've listened back and forth through this album a few times now. But I can't really decide where to put it.
I mean, yes, it was a pretty interesting release. Originally OK Human was scheduled after Van Weezer. However, Van Weezer was delayed by about a year and now they've decided to just bring forward Ok Human, which was chronologically later. Somebody must have miscalculated the schedule. I find that quite amusing.
Anyway.
The album starts strong, with the single that is already playing on ... read more
Eine Band, die polarisiert
Ach ja, Frei.Wild...
Katy on top
(I listened to the Complete Confection Version)
When I rated PRISM I said somethin like "sinking ship" or "shadow of her former self" (can't exactly remember)
But I have to admit it. The disappointment had to come from somewhere. Well, it came from this thing...THIS IS PURE POP GREATNESS. Nothing more needs to be said here.
Welcome 2021
Well here we go.
This hit me by surprise like a SUCKAPUNCH. I now listened to this thing pretty much 4 times in a row to really build my opinion to be absolutely sure that this thing is such a banger as it seemed.
I never expected You me At Six to make an album as near as this to my absolute favourite sound. But they turned to go a bit heavier with a very nice groove, that goes pretty much through the whole thing.
Some standout songs:
Nice to me: Perfect start to dive into this ... read more
I will defend this piece of art to death
Linkin Park was and is a very great inspiration for my music and me. Unlike most others, I came to the genre and this band quite a bit later so my starting point was here. Moreover, where most people already turned their back to LP I am only getting started.
It gave me the chills to return to this album as a whole. Of course, it isn't as hard as prior or even later works, but it absolutely doesn't need to. Linkin park has showed the world that they ... read more
Well... yeah, that was pretty cool
While other old grown old school rock classics continue to fail to bring a decent and refreshing album after the 2000s (with some exceptions of course) we have a great example how it could be done better.
Welcome 2 my Nigthmare is surely not perfect but it brings a very good vibe, decent tracks and it never gets boring, because the tracks never really sound the same. We have good guitar riffs and solos, cool singing, a red wire and all just feels very great. ... read more
Welcome to a world where old school BMTH fans are still whining around that the band is not as good as it used to be. So they cheerfully hate everything the band does. Honestly: crawl back under the stone you came out from and cry there.
Because what Bring me has been delivering lately is just spectacular. What they have tried with amo I still find incredible. I can even understand that this album is not for everyone, because there are so many styles united in one band that it should be ... read more
Wow, that took me by surprise.
After he babbled something in front of him in his recent album "Western Stars" without really singing any notes, I got ready to listen to another boring album of an old man. A man who actually had no more relevance for me after his last production.
But apparently Springsteen has mobilized all his strength once again to come out with a quite decent album. Of course it is still very quiet and partly similar music. But compared to his latest works, there ... read more
Wasted Potential
I was very exited for this album and somehow am a bit disappointed.
The last tracks i heard on radio where bombs but somehow that's it.
The album is not bad at all but it is very repetitiv. It seems to do what every usual pop album does.
So much wasted potential there ...
Get's better every time I listen to
After the disappointement I experienced with Ava Max I had to go through this one again.
Still the best pop album 2020 so far...
Well when did this story begin? I guess it was Poker Face. I first liked it, then hated it (because overplayd), then started to love it as I got into the rest of her Music on fame.
All the way to this album i always secretly kinda liked her music. But when I first listened to Artpop i was a bit disgusted and also disappointed.
So we have to move foreward. I started to watch American Horror Story (And no I had no idea she was in it) And it was then when i started to really like her as a person ... read more
Worse Version of Nickelback
The with this album (or better with this band) is somehow difficult to explain. I knew Daughtry for some of the Pop-Rock Radio Songs (Feels Like Tonight, No Surprise etc.) then Back in 2012 I went to a concert of Nickelback where Daughtry was Support Act, witch was perfectly fitting. The voices and the music is just so similar. Only Difference: Daughtry's Music is less rocky (Nickelback in 2012) Daughtry wasn't bad this evening but the soundmix was awful and the ... read more
