I struggle to understand the need to abridge/shorten your scores, Granted this isn't as bad as the Mid90's (which was a soundtrack EP? whutface) Often times these soundtracks tell a sonic story, which is perfect to play if you just want to get lost, Gone Girl & The Girl With The Dragon Tattoo are great examples of this from Reznor & Ross.

Reason I bring this up, is not because its less music like in the case of Mid90's, this soundtrack is still as long as complete soundtracks due to ... read more

The most noticeable remaster I've come across, I wish it wasn't so hard to gain access to but fuck its beautiful. Really pulls Endless out from the clouds surrounding its strange release.

Writing a review for this album has felt impossible. But perhaps that's the best way to describe it, its an album that doesn't seem tangible, if you tried to chain it to a word, Double negative would just go right through it and up into the clouds.

It reminds me of The Flaming Lips "The Terror" album, much like this record, its made me return to a band, I'd never given muuch thought of, and reexamined their sound with a new level of gratitude.

While I have very little clue what the ... read more

This single feels like two songs collided into one another, I really am in love with its first half, its second half is well, less inspired.

I can't help but wonder what the first half could have become, with its "suicide machine" such a poignant line. At the very least it could have been a lovely intro, oh well.

A breathtaking start, which becomes muddled and contrived by its electronic chirpings, in turn taking its stunning intro-mood and giving it this, less interesting idea, too busy for its own good (though I do enjoy its scattered and glittery vocals). I hope "Spells" makes a little more sense with the rest of its EP around.

RE: Protomartyr's new record. It's quite different to their previous releases. Much less conventional song structures, longer track lengths, more obtuse but also evocative, thought-provoking lyrics. It's probably their least accessible, yet most instantly classic sounding album.
