The State of Rock music - 2010-2020

A collection of records, by bands moving the sound of rock into its most interesting places:
Also leaves me to believe that Noise Rock will be the dominant face of rock in the coming years, with jazz and punk being melted into its fabric.

PS: Indie rock is purposely left out because its the current face of rock, and I'm dying for that to change

Protomartyr - Relatives in Descent
There seems to be a tactic of stacking gituar rifts on top of one another, which seemingly always produces various but brillantly interesting results: Grizzly Bears, Protomartyr & Atoms for Peace seem the most noticeable of these albums for this.
Daughters - You Won't Get What You Want
What a time to come-back with a Noise-Rock focused record.
Idles - Brutalism
Punk meets Rock in a bar and asks, "what's the best way to scare a tory?"
King Krule - The OOZ
Part 1 of Rock bringing Jazz into its blood
Nine Inch Nails - Bad Witch
Part 2, except its NIN so the aggression is still dialed way up
Brand New - Science Fiction
Fuck this is a good record, and I hate that it is!
Atoms for Peace - AMOK
Probably what rock will sound like in 100 years
Wild Beasts - Present Tense
They were their own beautiful thing, miss em :'(
Queens of the Stone Age - ...Like Clockwork
The most tradionally "rock" record on the list, and really the only pure rock album thats any good in this 10 year time period
Foo Fighters - Wasting Light
One of the last dying farts of rock, holds all the problems of rock, but also the many reasons we loved rock so much
Chelsea Wolfe - Abyss
Chelsea Wolfe plays with Doom, Noise & Goth and distills it into a Rock-tonic.
The Flaming Lips - The Terror
Part 1 of Rock Records that were drowned in electronic
The Body - I Have Fought Against It, But I Can't Any Longer.
The Body brings metal to rock listeners who can't stomach metal.
Deafheaven - Sunbather
See what I did there? Yeah this is metal but instrumentally it sounds like Noise Rock, I mean look at those melodies straight out of a rock handbook
