Worst: Brotherly Hate
God I hate the direction that pop song length is heading in. What happened to bridges? Or third verses? Or anything after the second chorus? Or at LEAST three minute run times?
The production is well handled and the atmosphere of each song is definitely present, her overall output just needs a little more refining as it feels like Addison's firing on all cylinders with how many styles she's going for. Also, her very Britney-esque 'everyone hates me because I'm amazing, ... read more
Sometimes misguided and a tad dull, but when Paolo actually gets to sing, his voice presents itself as nothing but generational. The funkier and more soulful stuff on here was really great, I just wasn't huge on the poppier and sluggish soul bits.
Favourite Song: Iron Sky
Best: Scream (Funk My Life Up), Let Me Down Easy, One Day, Better Man, Diana
Worst: Fashion
Musicality wise there's a lot much sameness (boy did Mr. Cash love to follow a formula), but no one else can do a Johnny Cash song other than Johnny Cash. The real catch with the album is in the lyrics, where rich feelings of loneliness, regret, and coping with circumstances run rife. Such a cool album with all of its lore, and it feels like a concept album because of how closely intertwined the track list is.

Feels like gliding through the noughties with a good mix of existentialism and anatomically strenuous acoustic riffs which could drive someone who doesn't have an abnormally long thumb insane.

Favourite Song: Why Georgia
Best: No Such Thing, My Stupid Mouth, Neon, 83, 3x5, Back to You, Not Myself, St. Patrick's Day
Worst: Your Body Is a Wonderland
Compared to Death Cab's bigger album Transatlanticism, Narrow Stairs focuses on the smaller, more finite instances of love and relationship changes through humanist domino effects and metaphors. The diversity of production is engaging, from an 8 minute epic on I Will Possess Your Heart (which has become one of my favourite indie rock songs of all time), to an eerie bongo filled atmosphere on Pity and Fear. The album continuously jumps between rockier and poppier moments, resulting in a ... read more
Impeccable vocals, but they can't save some really unremarkable songs amidst the gems.
Favourite Song: Feeling Good
Best: I Put A Spell On You, Tomorrow Is My Turn, One September Day, You've Got to Learn, Take Care of Business
Worst: Beautiful Land
Alfredo's sequel has my usual gripes with The Alchemist's repetitive production, but as a whole it is yet another really good Freddie album to the surprise of no one.
Favourite Song: Ensalada
Best: 1995, Mar-a-Lago, Lemon Pepper Steppers, Skinny Suge II, I Still Love H.E.R., Shangri La, Gold Feet, A Thousand Mountains
Worst: Empanadas
It's the squeeeeeeeeeeze's EP after a year of waiting. Took long enough.
Whimsical gothic goodness. Giving my best to all muntjacs and badgers excommunicated during the making of this EP.
Favourite Song: It's The Squeeeeeeeeeeeeeze
Best: Where The Barrel Meets The Badger, The Leader, Return The Day
Worst: 40 Winks to Wyoming
Mountainous in vision and an attack on all senses in the best possible ways.
Favourite Song: MONDAY
Best: NO QUESTIONS ASKED, WAGING WAR, RUIN MY LIFE, GODSTAINED, AT A TIME LIKE THIS, THAT'S WHY, NATURAL CAUSES, THUNDRRR, THE GREAT BAKUNAWA, FORGONE, CASPER
Worst: I DREAM ABOUT SINKING
Bouncy and erratic. A good time but one of Tyler's strangest releases.
Favourite Song: Sucka Free
Best: Big Poe, Sugar On My Tongue, Stop Playing With Me, Ring Ring Ring, Don't Tap That Glass / Tweakin'
Worst: Mommanem
It's refreshing to get a great piano led modern singer songwriter record like this. Some of the songs are absolutely beautiful and strangely nostalgic, but Cameron's warbly voice can be too much sometimes. Some of the individual songs are stellar, it just doesn't deliver the same punch as a whole album for me.
Favourite Song: Love Takes Miles
Best: Nausicaä, Drinking Age, Cancer of the Skull, 0$, Can't Keep Anything
Worst: The Rolling Stones
Yellow diamonds look like pee pee
It features Pharrell's best production in a pretty long time, and despite a weak second half, it remains an incredibly solid hip hop album. The features are great and the ever so expected cocaine bars are hard as hell. The Clipse comeback is real.
Favourite Song: Chains & Whips
Best: The Birds Don't Sing, P.O.V., So Be It, Ace Trumpets, M.T.B.T.T.F., E.B.I.T.D.A., Let God Sort Em Out/Chandeliers
Worst: By the Grace of God
I think that this is easily one of the most pivotal queer albums of the decade thus far, and I believe it dances absolute circles around the band's debut. Pirouette delivers experimental and psychotic dance rock which is challenging on the surface, but becomes truly mesmerising underneath its brash exterior. Certainly one of the best albums I've heard so far this year.
Favourite Song: Vespers
Best: Cinderella, Poppy, Diva, Acid Rain, Departures, Audience, Baton
Worst: Ring Road
Although ridiculously slow paced and at points supremely unremarkable, the glimpses of magic that Everyday Life provides are fantastic and beautiful. Arabesque sweeps literally the rest of the track list under a quality rug, which contributes to Everyday Life becoming one of Coldplay's strangest, most inconsistent albums. To me it feels like it pushes the band's modern 'love everyone' sentiments out the most, for the better and for the occasional worst. Maybe attempting as ... read more
Sweaty and gloriously anarchic rave fuel. I remember despising Firestarter when I was younger, but maturing is realising just how immaculately crafted this album is, despite its connotations of being mindless, annoying dance music. Sticking a rock band knee deep in a techno whirlpool results in something fun and different. I'm so glad I was pulled in by their 2025 Glastonbury Firestarter performance, this album is fantastic.

Such a damn impressive sampling spectacle.
Favourite Song: Since I Left You
Best: Stay Another Season, Radio, Two Hearts in 3/4 Time, Close to You, Electricity, Tonight May Have to Last Me All My Life, Frontier Psychiatrist, Etoh, Live at Dominoes, Extra Kings
Worst: Pablo's Cruise
Virgin successfully uses pop x electronica trends of yesteryear, despite its songs being too short to make for a really impactful listen. And although it's a very personal album with some great emotional lines, the occasional nonsense line drew me away from the listen at times. It's a decent pop album, but I fear that now I'm realising I was never really as big of a Lorde fan as I thought I was. She can make some banger singles, but I really struggle to remember much about her ... read more
The heart within Magic, Alive! is undeniable. You can tell that this is meant to be the successor to McKinley's prior album, as his established jazz rap is only expanded upon to make for a beautiful and passionate listen.
Favourite Song: Listen Gentle
