Highly enjoyed this album, so many good songs. It's crazy how Abel helped revolutionized R&B in the early 2010's and was one of the pioneers of the alternative R&B subgenre. House of Balloons' quality surprisingly holds up to this day.
Unfortunately didn't like this as I thought, but it's still a really good album by Frank.
This is the second album for this week's Classic Rock Sunday, this is Pink Floyd's deeper exploration into progressive rock, Meddle.
This is a pretty solid album overall, especially with that phenomenal of an ending track Echoes. The rest of the album's great as well, with only Seamus being the dud on this. This is a heavily underrated Pink Floyd album and progressive rock album as a whole, so many good moments all throughout.
Welcome to another Classic Rock Sunday, today's album is the critically acclaimed and only album of late singer-songwriter Jeff Buckley released in 1994, Grace.
I went in with tampered expectations but I still heard a lot of good from this album. What the hell, this was an experience that I would return to again and again. I loved Buckley's vocals, those slick basslines, the guitars, the drums, everything about this album is just perfection. I'm confident to give this album a ... read more
Just a great album, Anderson Paak and Bruno Mars mesh so well on here. So many groovy basslines and lovely sounds all throughout this short album. I liked this a lot more than I expected, will likely come back to this a lot.
Mayhem is a return to Gaga’s pop roots but without being a cheap rehash of her early albums. I liked the album overall, but it is clear that the back half of this album suffers from an unfortunate drop of quality, and the disparity is evident coming from Zombieboy to LoveDrug. I liked most in the first half, while the back half kinda meandered around until the last song Die With a Smile, which I really like.
Overall, a great album but that back half should've been better quality ... read more
Forever Howlong is the band’s first album without the lead singer Isaac Wood, who left in 2021 after the release of their second album Ants From Up There. There were big shoes to fill after his departure. Longtime member Georgia Ellery takes up his role and becomes the band’s newest lead vocalist for this album. Building on from their previous album's chamber pop sound, this album fully embraces this new sound and departs from their post-rock influenced one they’re known ... read more
Ngl this started out kinda weak but luckily got way way better there tracks in. I really enjoyed Denzel’s signature flow and this album is overall really good. It’s oozing with talent and the production is crazy too, Denzel just slides on this album throughout.
Pretty good new wave music, I enjoyed it more than I expected tbh. Shout, Everybody Wants to Rule the World, and Head Over Heels / Broken are the highlights.
I really enjoyed this one, the groovy instrumentation and the jazziness of this album just scratches a part of my brain and it creates for such an enjoyable listen. Overall a great album, some little nitpicks here and there but despite that, this is a very solid album that brings pretty chill vibes.
Welcome to another Classic Rock Sunday, unfortunately I had to skip the previous weeks since I became extremely busy again so I had little time to listen to new music. Anyways, today's first album is Red by the English rock band King Crimson, which is a band that I reviewed already twice in previous CRS and I'm glad to listen to once again today. This is their last album before they disbanded until they reunited and made Discipline, which is a way less intense album compared to Red. ... read more
Awesome album. Highly infectious verses and hooks, incredible production, and hits hard as hell. Enjoyed myself while listening to this album, I’m glad that this was my first experience with the band. Hip-hop and rock/metal is such a great combination, I love all three genres with all my heart.
Late Classic Rock Sunday:
Yeah I skipped out on some weeks but I'm back now.
I found out about this band from a Short, and I admire their origins and their major contribution to the emerging punk scene at the time especially as people of color during that era. Bad Brains' self-titled album lives up to the hype. It's energetic, aggressive, raw, and overall just a great punk album. I enjoyed the slower tracks sandwiched in between the intense ones, it makes for a better ... read more
You think with how he kept delaying this album he was creating the second coming of TPAB, but no. It's not even as good as TPAB, not even close. No matter if you like this album or not, this was NOT worth 5 years just because Carti wanted to have "aura" or some stupid shit like that. You're pushing 30, a deadbeat, and balding, you don't look cool or mysterious "aura farming," you're just corny.
Mini rant aside, I had low expectations to not be as ... read more
Ngl this cover is way better than the regular version. Anyways, this review will be for the deluxe tracks only as I reviewed the regular version months back, though in a joking review but I liked it overall.
The first track starts off really strong with 15 Minutes, sonically it's not too distinct from other pop tracks on the entire album like Taste or Please Please Please but I cannot lie, this was a pretty good song overall. The second song on this deluxe is the Please Please Please ... read more
