what a fucking massacre. Love you glass beach, but man yall really took away everything great about beach-life-in-death and vomited this out. I mean there is some cool parts with the instrumentals, but it looses all the energy and deep seeded frustration and sadness from the original.
Obligatory at this point lol. I'm not surprised this is number 1. So many more qualified people have analyzed and gushed over this album enough. Beautiful incorporation of jazz and rap, and the theming, story telling, and sound is timeless. Truly a modern classic that deserves all the love it gets

From France's anecdote about seeing her doppelgänger at a waffle house, or the time she had a teen ask her to play ... read more
Holy fuck this album is so powerful. The context behind this album makes it absolutely horrifying and is just truly soul crushing and beautiful. Hayter's singing mixed with beautiful pianos with these horrifying moments that just jump at you makes the album just so depressing. And I'm not going to pretend like I understand every form of religious imagery or the strange samples, but the album just glows with pure emotions of hatred and a yearning for repentance and peace. But it just ... read more
