Tom Waits - Alice
90

With Alice, Tom Waits creates a project with a feeling of melancholy but, at the same time, darkness or restlessness that makes us visualize all kinds of places and stories. As if painting a picture, it creates a balanced and perfectly composed beauty with a unique aura that guarantees a very special trip.

Brad Mehldau - Largo
94

Jazz evolves and Brad Mehldau creates a project where he pushes acoustics to the limit and all the covers he makes of great songs, from Tom Jobim to Radiohead to the Beatles. Magnificent arrangements and covers, perfect production and interpretation and the creation of soundscapes has no limits. You can simply appreciate the beauty of music and jazz in this incredible LP.

twenty one pilots - Scaled and Icy
68

Yes, I didn't expect this after the great Trench. This time the duo decided to make a much more minimalist and simple album, with a dreamier and sweeter aesthetic, but this does not justify the fact that most of the tracks are so boring, simple, predictable and forgettable. The production is still good and some sections and ideas surprise and please me, there are songs that I love (Redecorate seems to me to be one of the best tracks of his career), but the amount of truly mind-numbing low ... read more

Aphex Twin - Syro
85

Aphex returns to his pure essence with tints, layers and sounds that remind us of his initial stage and abandons the path he was taking with Druqks. He continues creating atmospheres and great songs with pads, synthesizers and well-worked acid vibes, with brutal production and a lot of imagination as always. The project shows us that after the great wait Richardo is still on point, a brutal and very complete IDM album.

Travis Scott - Birds In The Trap Sing McKnight
65

Some beats continue to slap and sound new, Travis continues with the same formula and this means that, comparing this project with his previous one, we see the differences more exaggerated. The production and originality does not surpass that of their previous album, in fact it remains a bit stagnant and only manages to achieve something truly refreshing or new in some songs. It could have been much better, but his previous project surpassed it in practically every aspect.

Travis Scott - Rodeo
78

The selection of beats, sounds and a new and characteristic style in this project is totally innovative and visionary, marking a sound that would stand out for years and would open the doors for new artists and currents. To this day, all the tracks feel fresh and slappy, like the album came out yesterday. A debut album that starts strong, marking a before and after in the subgenre.

twenty one pilots - Trench
90

Trench is undoubtedly the most compact and stable album by the American duo twenty one pilots, whether for its variety of lyrics at the same time connected by an elaborate fictional plot that connects them, the perfect production and fusion of different genres in this very diverse project, The musical and vocal quality that they have been perfecting is already seen at its brightest... And, of course, we can continue seeing the original ideas and elements that have characterized the band.

Metallica - Metallica
90

The majesty and power of this album and its direct and explosive sound make it special and unique within the genre, whether for its catchy melodies and resources or for the incredible and immortal riffs on the project. An album that will not die, an album with 12 great and diverse tracks that will remind us of one of the best stages of the group, the black album will always be there to destroy everything.

twenty one pilots - Blurryface
78

The duo still have original and creative ideas, fusing genres and sounds of many types, creating memorable songs and others that are quite average. The lyrics in some songs are really good, but in others not so much, and the same goes for the vocal performance (which has been improving a lot). They have more power, more depth and more variety in the project. Yeah, this is something else.

twenty one pilots - Vessel
72

Vessel finally offers the band a decent production and a more elaborate development of ideas, having really good songs and others... Not so much. They continue to use electronic elements in their songs, original ideas and resources and good lyrics, although many songs can become boring, simple or simply predictable. Little by little, twenty one pilots continue to improve and advance.

twenty one pilots - Regional at Best
48

I think the only good thing I find in this album is the originality of some ideas and their authenticity, but that doesn't come close to forgiving the horrible production, elements like autotune or very poorly worked and tacky synths and very stupid lyrics in several songs. It has some good points, but the execution of the ideas is pretty lousy.

twenty one pilots - twenty | one | pilots
62

Twenty One Pilots begins with a project full of diverse and groundbreaking ideas, difficult to pigeonhole as a whole but enjoyable, if it weren't for the difficult production and, sometimes, Tyler's hard-to-listen vocal performances. It was an emerging indie group with which we can understand its low production quality that tries to defend itself many times. The letters are often beautiful and other times somewhat strange, sometimes seeming somewhat peculiar.
Anyway, this project is not bad to ... read more

Jamiroquai - Automaton
60

Jamiroquai doesn't improve, rather, worsens his way of fusing his disco touch with new sounds in his career (in this case, the retro style). There are some songs that feel good, but most of them I imagine a Kia commercial in the background. Few songs have stuck out to me, but I must admit that the production is not bad at all.
The band faces aging and losing its essence, something totally normal but that makes us miss their past albums.

Jamiroquai - Rock Dust Light Star
68

Jamiroquai continues to modernize and evolve his style and take it towards more commercial and pop sounds. Some tracks are clear examples of the best way to do it, but some other tracks feel very monotonous or with little personality, which was what most characterized the band. This problem was seen a little on the previous album, but not as much as on this one (where the great personality and authenticity of the group sometimes becomes the sound of a perfume advertisement).
Likewise, it's not ... read more

Muse - Will of the People
48

Muse makes the same mistake on this new album as on Drones, creating some good grooves and riffs but abounding in dispensable, boring songs with formulas that they have already repeated a thousand times. Very static and typical ballads, songs with disco rhythms and synthesizers that don't stick at all, pretty silly lyrics (sometimes), a production that often leaves something to be desired, some ideas that are already quite used or new but poorly handled...
Yes, there are one or two good songs, ... read more

Hail the Sun - Wake
92

Hail the Sun finds an explosive and beautiful way to show suffering through very melodic progressive metal.
A unique and heartbreaking voice accompanied by virtuoso and dynamic instrumentals that give it a personal and tremendous sound, without losing its beauty and melancholy. Each of the tracks feels like a different adventure from the other, without a doubt a great project.

Muse - Simulation Theory
68

Simulation Theory improves in what Drones and The 2nd Law screwed up more. They look for more original and different elements, creating truly compact fusions of the new aesthetic with their epic sound, and on the other hand they continue making some filler songs with boring structures and ideas that add nothing to the album.
In general, there are more great songs and better production than on other albums, which can offer us some hope in Muse, since you can see more of their essence and ... read more

Muse - Drones
52

An ambitious project that does not even come close to what it intended to be. Muse keep trying to sound like something they don't achieve, with really basic and boring songs that feel like pure filler and within minutes of listening to them you erase them from your head.
It must be admitted that on this album there are better riffs and power than on the previous album, but very few interesting ideas and little movement during the album.
Muse does not improve much compared to its previous ... read more

Muse - The 2nd Law
58

Muse creates a well-crafted sonic journey within what is the dismal and boring level of songwriting and creativity for most of the album. Tracks like Supremacy, Animals and little else feel powerful and truly epic or simply very good, the others are attempts at new sounds and slings that they have not managed to carry out in a good way. Muse, as much as some sections are very well arranged and performed, continues to deteriorate its career little by little.

Radiohead - The King of Limbs
68

The short tracklist and the little variety of ideas and little dynamics within the album make this album always difficult for me to listen to, but at the same time I find many ambiental and interesting songs. It is not as big or unique as the band's other great projects, but it has its particular concept and aura that, although it turns off many listeners, gives personality to the LP.
Personally, I find it good but it lacks something that almost all the other Radiohead albums have but this one ... read more
