girl why did no one tell me this was dropping and why did i find out from oomf who reposts gay porn on twitter…
this is phenomenal.
i always knew rebecca could make a really good project. despite not being the biggest fan of ‘let her burn’, there were some ideas on that album that were definitely interesting, however not fully fleshed out.
with this album it seems like her head is completely in the game and she’s consistently delivering banger after banger. very excited for what she’ll do in the future. in the meantime, this album will definitely be on repeat throughout this year.
honestly not really a fan of the club shy era, i find it pretty disappointing sonically and conceptually, even if it is supposed to be just something to “hold us over” until the sophomore album. some memorable moments from this ep where i can actually kind of see the ideas she was going for, but honestly the end result is pretty underwhelming.
one of the projects i accidentally overlooked back when it released so i finally decided to delve into it.
i was pleasantly surprised, i wasn’t aware jt could carry a whole project like this, but for the most part she was able to keep me entertained. the beats on this also go surprisingly hard.
there are a few parts where i think jt couldn’t exactly match the beats swagger but those were very few and far between. some of the lyrics are also slightly questionable, unless i heard ... read more
first time i listen to this project in years and unfortunately, it still has the same flaws that i remember. sonically, it gets a bit monotonous in places, to the point where sometimes i wouldn’t notice that i’m at the next song. and the mixing on this thing can be… something else at times. like i know it was the early 90s, but really?
enough with the bad. overall, still an enjoyable listen. it’s crazy that this is the same courtney love from today, like what happened ... read more
continuing my deep dive into aurora’s catalogue.
i’m listening to this album after her 2024 one (i know, going backwards in someone’s discography is considered a sin on this site, sorry) and it kind of feels like the calm before the storm.
this feels a lot more chill and free-falling, which isn’t necessarily a bad thing, but i did find myself zoning out a bit more.
the melodies and aurora’s voice are still as angelic as ever. the whole lp sounds like one of ... read more
overall her best effort yet. the writing is also a step-up from her previous project and the songs feel at least a bit more fleshed out and substantial. it’s a bit front-loaded as an album, but still somewhat sticks the landing with the last 2 tracks.
her growth as an artist is undeniable and while she still has a long way to go - it’s nice to hear improvement with every new project.
as a pop star - tate doesn’t bring anything new to the table and seems to be heavily ... read more
art pop has never been so back.
admittedly i am quite late to the aurora party even though i’ve heard a few of her songs over the years, i never sat down with an actual album.
colour me impressed. the writing on this album has so much personality and her voice glides so beautifully over the shimmery and sometimes slightly off-putting production.
i fear this calls for an aurora discography deep dive.
compared to the original track run - there is nothing that stands out on this deluxe edition, except for how absolutely horrid the mixing on the ‘please x3’ remix with dolly is.
a mixed bag of remixes of gaga’s sixth lp delivered by left field and queer leaning artists, shining a light on the very talented and often under-appreciated voices that reign in the underground scene.
it really seems like gaga let everyone have as much creative freedom as they wanted, however, sometimes it feels like a few of the features didn’t really know where to take the track or how to elevate it.

this is beyoncé's KUNTRY and we're all just living in it.
it took a few listens for some of the songs to fully grow on me, but after my 4th full listen i can now confidently say that this album belongs in the holy trinity alongside RENAISSANCE & lemonade.
i'm usually not big on country music, but i trusted bey's artistic vision and it paid off big time !! infusing country songs with pop sounds and doing it in a completely different way than anyone else (at least on the scale that ... read more
a haunting masterpiece filled with industrial pieces scattered throughout. the album to me resembles someone in a dark room with no doors or windows, pouring their thoughts on the floor and trying to make sense of them all.
an amazing ambient rock project i think everyone should check out.
such a dazzling album filled with upbeat and groovy songs that cover love, femininity and infidelity. the songs are dripping with lush production that are like ear candy.
there are definitely some songs that are standouts and more enjoyable to me, but none of the tracks are weak and overall the album is fairly consistent both sonically and in quality.
you can always count on carly to be in her own pop lane. even with a b side, she still manages to deliver a collection of bangers that very much remind of the 80s synth pop nostalgia while putting her own modern twist on it.
while having a few minor missteps on some songs, especially the outro track (mean reason it dragging out for no reason), it overall still manages to pull through and show more personality than most of her pop peers nowadays.
beautiful work of art that makes you feel like an atomic bomb just went off in your heart.
talking about love, longing and existentialism it never fails to punch you in the gut, while in a weird way also feeling so domestic.
it really is one of the best albums that has come out not just this year, but this entire decade. the guitar and piano sections on this album, while being simple, still do their job of flawlessly filling the space between adrianne's vocals and tug at your heartstrings.
