Really liked this album when it came out, but Night Visions, as well as many albums from this time period, don't hold up like they used to. Radioactive and It's Time used to be great, and it's interesting to see them lose favor with people over time.

"@ToTheEdge Like I said, it's a C using my original scoring method. When I look at AOTY ratings, I view it as a 0-10 scale, not a school grade scale. AOTY makes a 51 seem more harsh than it really is. There were songs I liked, but as a whole, it was "disappointing" like the breakdown shows. But I know this is a top tier album to the public and I'm the outlier, and it certainly will be better when I listen to it in the future."

"@ToTheEdge Sure! I created the curve since the original grading system I had used were like a letter grade in school. A's are 90+, B's 80-89, etc. When I chose to use AOTY, I wanted to change may rating to reflect the color system AOTY has (green 70+, yellow 50-69, red 49-).
Many albums I've listened to are in the 60 or 70 range, and those on either end get hit with the curve, for better or worse. For Dirt, it averaged a 75.25 (a C school grade), curve made it a 51. I had never listed to Alice in Chains or Dirt before, and this was a one time listen. After one listen, it wasn't my taste, resulting in it being on the lower end. However, I'm sure if I gave it a couple more listens, it would end up higher, as with most music."
