Incredible, I love the sound of this album
fun experience from front to back. not too long and very solid.
I like the song, mixing isnt the best but i like what's come from lil squeaky recently
It still doesn't feel real, I can't believe this is the same band who made "Do I Wanna Know". I absolutely love the style of TLSP and now this album, it's an incredible extension of those ideas. I think the first half is great. It loses my attention in the second half a bit more, but the instrumentation is still stellar. Also the album cover is pretty inoffensive but the title of the album is really boring.
this was my shit when i was 9. this album is full of some bangers. I didn't listen to a lot of the less popular songs which aren't great coming back to them but still pretty decent.
also i don't remember that ending section on The Miracle being so short, I thought it was a lot longer lol.
The title track offers a catchy riff and vocal melody which serve the song well as a fun, surface level song, but the problem lies in its inability to bring any excitement for the rest of the album. The structure is bland and uninspired with a lackluster bridge and outro. The song lacks depth lyrically in addition to its thematic problems. [6+] Compliance at first glance is a mediocre attempt at a dystopian pop song that is quickly ripped apart after multiple listens. The lyrics are ... read more
Actually pretty good. The vocals and the singing style feel too clean and soft to fit the instrumental and the vocals are mixed a bit loud, but overall its not bad. I would've liked more bass in the mix. Still not as good as some of their earlier work.
First disk is almost as good as Grace. Second half isnt great but that's because they are unfinished demos that sadly never got to be completed.
My rating is based off of the first disk.
Porky pig has an existential crisis; the musical.
Honestly I love the sound of this. It flows so well. The album still retains black midi's style, but it is so much more accessible than some of their other albums.
Pretty good. I think it will grow on me more over time. The only problem I have with this album is that it feels bland at points. Like the songs don't have a distinct identity. The mixing is probably the best (as a complete album) mixing since Our Love To Admire.
Best songs: Toni, Fables (wish he sang more on key), Something Changed, Mr. Credit, Renegade Hearts, Passenger, Gran Hotel.
Worst: All the others.
Honestly a pretty strong album. Not as much impact as some of the other projects but still very good.
This is incredible. I love every song except It Could Be Sweet. Glory Box sounds a lot like Cut A Hole by Radiohead. Hmmmmmm. The fade out kinda sucks though.
