HOW DO YOU LISTEN TO SO MUCH MUSIC IN ONE DAY THATS INCREDIBLE

Really fun trappy r&b with strong plugg and cloud rap aesthetic all over it, also a bit theatrical and excessively layered

I suppose I can see that. I personally see the album as a meditative experience in a form of dance music, so I don't mind the rather wandering nature of Funkhaus. It does feel like it's dragged on a little bit, but it gives me the sensation of listening to a relaxing ambient composition, except in a form of dance music this time.

I somewhat agrees on Moving House criticism, I will probably prefer it if the track was developed as another dance track instead of in the state that it is, but once again, the way I see this album does help me to overlook those moments. You can tell how obsessed I am with this lol. :p

I'm glad you enjoyed it for the most parts though! Also, out of topic, but what are some of your favorite punk and hip hop record from this year that's not included in your BNM list?

How do you feel about the new Sofia Kourtesis?

Yeah I can see it. I think the sound design definitely feels daring but it also just sort of wander through same direction over and over, it left me a bit unsatisfied. It does make me interested to check out his other albums though since I haven't much from him.

Out of topic, but there's this dance album from Laurence Guy released a few months ago. I found him through Sofia Kourtesis' remixes since I've been doing a discography deep dive before her debut album comes out. It's relaxed, long, and got a sweet jazz undertone to it. Check it out if you're interested!

Sweet. I heard good things about it so I hope I can hear good things about it from you too.

Any thoughts on the new Forest Swords?

The new Sampha definitely met my expectations and more, truly feels like a magnum opus the way the album is near-flawlessly constructed to me. I wouldn't say it's a refinement from Process per se since I find both records to be great for a bit of different reasons. I think I enjoyed Process for its eclectic take on futuristic neo-soul while Lahai is more focused in terms of sound palette (Drum n bass-y drums, UK garage, strings and piano arrangement), but I suppose I enjoyed Lahai a bit more as an album experience.

I also enjoyed the new Jane Remover a handful amount although I wouldn't say it's anywhere near as satisfying as frailty. I still appreciate how vulnerable the lyrics were, and I think record pans out well for the most parts but I can't deny that the first two tracks feels like a slog for me to get through when paired with each other.

Actually haven't heard the new Evian Christ and I haven't heard much from the singles but I do remember enjoying Nobody Else quite a bit.
