yo can every1 listen to this shit? i swear on everything that it's amazing, and this dude/band (idk) has LESS THAN 10K listeners on spotify.
"i saw an angel in the mirror" is an underground shoegaze masterpiece. Packed with heavy, but dreamy instrumentals, with emotionally charged lyrics, topped off with amazing emo-inspired vocals. Filled to the brim with distortion, it manages to keep the same level of noise throughout every track without EVER feeling too samey/unoriginal.

Not nearly as transcendental as it's successor, but retains the ethereal nature of Laughing Stock. Spirit of Eden doesn't live up to the same highs, but instead it goes for a more peaceful or atmospheric sound, with a higher focus on instrumentals. Still mind-bogglingly peak, I'd even claim this was as good as Laughing Stock, but some tracks drag on for very long. I'd almost call it Ambient Rock if that existed.
Hauntingly beautiful. At points, this album sounds kinda spooky / haunting, but it actually ends up feeling a bit more soothing and calming. There's nothing to steal the show, just moments of noise to accompany the luster of the vocals. EXTREMELY unique, I don't think I've heard anything like this, and, in my opinion, it kinda cements itself as it's own sound. The album REALLY lives up to it's title.
Absolutely a one-of-a-kind listen, and I'd highly recommend.

The heavy guitar riffs in the beginning are intentionally harsh and contrasting to the kind of calming sound of the guitar.
When the riffs hit, it's almost beautiful. They clash together like harsh waves, and the heavy reverb on Dan's vocals, which lack any distortion, it completes the ... read more
"Is Punk Rock Racist" is genuinely one of the stupidest parody pieces of all time. You have a great folk-like instrumental and good vocals (that almost sound like Morrisey's), and then the fucking song is about punk-rock being racist. What the fuck bro.
I think the strongest suit of this album is the vocals. Star Starer's backups are really good whenever they're introduced, and Roadkill does a great job. There are times where I feel it is too distorted, too noisy and, at times, the vocals don't really compliment the instrumentals well, which brings me onto my next point:
The instrumentals are really hit or miss for me. I think they're occasionally great, songs like stop calling and playing dead have great instrumentals ... read more

this entire album lost 10 points because of the first line of verse 3 on boxing day
"is there some rule that guys can never talk about anything?
they just watch the girls go by"
maybe i don't care about my masculinity but this line FUCKING SUCKS
i love boxing day though
