What a journey…! When the organ hits midway through Close to the Edge is one of the most powerful and one of my favourite moments in music. The abrubtness of the organ is what i love about this album, its uncertainty and unpredictableness.
Underrated! The title track is one of my favourite Pink Floyd songs and one of the ones I’ve listened to the most.
Beautiful textures, low-end, reeverb and delays but the mix turns a little to muddy for my liking. I would like to hear some distinct melody or vocals pierce through the mix and compliment the music.
Simple yet captivating melodies with complex, lush, layered and most notably distorted instruments in the background. Dreamy and beautiful!
Hard not to compare it with the far supperior ‘Loveless’. The three beginning tracks are acutally pretty good, but the rest of the album falls pretty flat after that.
‘For Wanda’ is perhaps one of the most emotional, haunting and beautiful songs i have ever heard.
Beautiful melodies and atmosphere throughout!
Favourite Track: Le Miroir, Sapphire.
Least Favourite: Les jardins de minuit.
Consistently beautiful atmoshpere, but i find myself waiting for that big climax or highlight. ITIIITIATIIHYLIHYL is the clear apex of the album and the beautiful vocals should be utilized more throughout the album.
Looking forward to the rest of this album. The prior album 'self-titled' lacked the vocals which is present here.
When it hits it hits immensely, but turns stale at times.
Favourite Track: Screaming and Two-Way Mirror.
The epitome of ambience
Favourite Track: An Ending (Ascent) and Deep Blue Day
Greatest story telling in the history of music. Rogers Waters spews an insane amount of emotions into his performance taking us on an emotional ride.
A forgiving Swans album! In addition to Soundtracks for the blind, this is the album i return to the most.
Favourite Track: Killing for company.
