'ants from up there' feels like a giant buildup that grows and grows more than you'd expect until it completely bursts down during the last minutes of the ~13 minute long last track 'basketball shoes'. the arrangements are hauntingly beautiful and feel different than everything that has been done before. probably going to become a classic.
'heavy metal' is nothing you'd expect it to be and surprises on every move it takes. it feels kind of fascinating how cameron winter switches between emotional lyrical depth and metaphors that you'll probably won't ever get, while sometimes almost being unserious and ironic. really unique record and still grows over time after many listens.
idk why but i always forget how insanely good this one is. every time i get back to this record, i'm amazed by it's sound and production and how much risks the strokes have taken on this, compared to the rest of their work. 'ode to the mets' is an absolute masterpiece.
this king crimson debut album is an absolute classic of its genre and it really is perfect. impressive musicianship and great complexity paired with heartbreaking lyrics some of the best arrangements you'll ever hear. 'epitaph' is arguably one of the best songs ever written.
jar of flies really is a unique take on 90s grunge and alternative music, combining deeply emotional songwriting with amazing musicianship on every instrument. this album is the closest you can get to layne staley's feelings. classic album.
disintegration really is a journey and probably the cure's best work. the production is mind blowing and the instrumentation really hits the sweet spot between complexity and catchy riffs. absolute classic.
this one's so loud and noisy and may seem overwhelming on first listen but it really has it's own beauty, connecting soul crushing arrangements with lyrical and conceptual complexity, talking about nihilism, existentialism and depression in a way, that seems uncomparable. absolute masterpiece.
brilliant lyricism and stunning vocal performance. from the silent 'corpus christi carol' to the emotional ending of 'grace', this album feels so influential and unique. must listen.
this album is absolutely flawless and is definitely their most cohesive work. zero skips and every song feels so close to any human emotion. what a timeless masterpiece.
